There are plenty of things that I wanted to share with you guys. I just got back from my “spontaneous trip” to Singapore. Me and my friend, we’re just so tired of Jakarta, doing the same thing, going to the same place and keep repeating the same weekend routine, it’s tiring. So we decided to go to Singapore last weekend to explore and also because we need fresh air. Fortunately, we have a friend who works in Singapore, she’s a stewardess for Singapore Airlines (SQ), so we stayed at her place in Changi Area.

Here are a few places that we visited during our trip
HAJI LANE
This place is really popular. ‘Sweet’ is the perfect word to describe Haji Lane. There are so many cute cafes, cute stores, colorful buildings and also street arts. There’s just something about places like this that makes everything look like a piece of art
- Fika Swedish and Cafe Bistro
We had lunch at this place, my friend read it in a blog, it said that this place is a must try, so we tried it. It’s a bit pricey, all the main course is above $15, drink is around $7 – $9, but I gotta tell you, they sure taste really good. Try the Swedish meatballs, you’ll love it!
KAMPOENG GLAM
To be honest, We didn’t know the exact location of Kampoeng Glam. hahaha. We just followed the map and other blogs’s direction, and then we found this big street with small and unique cafes around, but there weren’t that many like in Haji Lane, and also there are a few street arts, just a few. Kampoeng glam is not that far from Haji Lane, you can walk there. But the question is, is this the right place? hahaha
TIONG BAHRU.
Tiong Bahru has become one of the hippy-dippy neighborhoods in Singapore thanks to its old world charm filled with many rustic designed cafes. This area is also similar to all the above area, however, you can find pretty cool stores that you can’t find in other areas. If you’re going to Singapore, give Tiong Bahru a visit and head on to Yong Siak Street.
- Tiong Bahru Bakery
This place is located in eng-hoon street in tiong bahru. When you step in to this store you are greeted by counters of baked goods. Everything is just so tempting.

- Plain Vanilla Bakery
This cafe is located at Tiong Bahru’s Yong Siak Street. People said that this place offers one of the best cupcakes in Singapore. The place is really charming, with old school bicycles parked in the entrance, a big wooden table with benches, and they have a wooden swing and toys to entertain the kids.

- Books Actually
Books Actually is a welcoming and surprising place, it’s an indie book store with a whole new experience. As I look around the book store I can see a lot of fiction, biographies and literature books. This place has lots of rare books and they also put some stools around the book store, it’s very thoughtful of them. If I have a lot time in Singapore I can literally spend hours here.

- Others
On our trip we were thinking of going to the Singapore Art and Science Museum in Marina Bay, the Davinci exhibition was being held in that place, however, it was a bit pricey so we decided to just look around Garden by the bay. The walk was a bit far tho and it was extremely hot in Singapore, the sun just can’t stop shining! So after we crossed the bridge to garden by the bay, we were like “too.. hot.. can’t.. breathe..” well not literally, but we were exhausted! so we decided to go back and just go to orchard. hahaha. girls….
So yea, that was all. for you guys who want to see the other parts of Singapore, other than Orchard Road, go and visit these places 🙂
Happy Traveling!
